As we dismantle the magnificent mills and factories in search of the most beautiful and most stable beams in which to recover old wood that is appropriate for a Carlisle Antique Wide Plank floor, we sometimes discover other parts of the building, such as old floor boards or structural floor joists that we preserve in a very unique floor that we call 'Grandpa's Floor'. Time, years of wear and tear, and quite frankly, dirt have covered up much of the original beauty of the wood which has aged into a dramatic color tone that is a blend of rich pumpkin deep charcoal color tones. The original saw marks are still present creating our most rustic floor that will tell you the history of its previous life!
