Gregg and Marsha Martin in North Carolina installed a Carlisle floor in their living room back in 2006 and now they’re back considering another floor for their house. They were kind enough to send us this photo of the Premium Grade Heart Pine they had put in their living room then. It was finished with Autumn Leaf and Tung Oil. Now they are back for more, considering the installation of a pre-finished floor.

This weekend, September 18 through 20, visitors can see Carlisle Wide Plank Floors in action at the Boston Home Show. Our Old Growth Heart Pine floors will be underfoot in the show booth for Crown Point Cabinetry, a long-time partner with us. Crown-Point will be displaying a number of their cabinets and wall units, also featuring our premium select Antique Heart Pine from Carlisle used in a wall unit for a pantry, a base cabinet, and a counter top. Look for Crown-Point’s 20-foot booth at the show!
The show is at the Bayside Expo Center (get directions here).
If you miss this event, you’ll have another chance to check out the Crown Point booth if you can travel to Hartford, CT in November, for its Hartford Home Show
or to the Build Boston event in mid-November.

Roya and Ian Young, a custom-cabinet maker by trade, chose Carlisle’s Eastern White Pine to create a great, casual look in their cottage. The floor was done with a hit-or-miss technique. Hit-or-miss is just one many handmade surfaces that Carlilse’s woodworking team can create.

Bulson Managment, a general contractor that builds and renovates residential and commerical properties in the New York City area, sent along these photos of Carlisle floors recently laid down in a renovation project on Franklin Street in New York. The Carlisle floors included 1,450 square feet of 6- to 9-inch Antique Oak and 1,450 square feet of 3- to 7-inch Country Grade White Oak mixed together. Both have a Tung Oil finish.

While it’s cliche to say a picture is worth a 1,000 words, it’s easy to see how the cliche came to be when you look at the pictures of this home owned by Heidi Mellin. The recently completed home was built by Old Greenwich Builders and the floor was installed by Front Range Floor Specialists Nate Sauer. But, it’s the photos that tell the story.
The home style is described as “mid-century modern.”
The floor is all 6-inch wide select and premium grade White Oak with micro beveled edges. The finish is White WOCA oil with Naturale as the final top coat. You can see more about these types of custom finishes here.
