This is fun: Carlisle made the list of the ten most viewed products on the Modenus blog in July. Modenus is an online networking and catalog site for design professionals and others interested in design. It features high quality products and directories of designers, artisans, and tradespeople, in addition to a blog.

The specific Carlisle product that made the top ten list is the White Oak floor with Whitewashed Fence Finish, pictured below.

Walnut makes for stunning floors in Colorado home

What can we say about Walnut? There’s nothing quite like it. With its rich chocolate color and its fluid, swirling grain patterns, it makes for a rare and spectacular floor.

To illustrate what a dynamic choice Walnut is, we’d like to share with you these photos of rooms designed by Jeanne Wisner of Imagine Kitchens & Bath, which serves the greater Denver area. (Incidentally, we think Jeanne and Imagine Kitchens & Bath are a dynamic choice, too!) Jeanne worked with Kevin Crowder of our Denver showroom to select Walnut in 4- to 7-inch widths. The planks were finished by craftsmen in our Custom Shop with Light Saw Kerf milling, a technique that recreates the look of boards made in early sawmills that contain saw swirl markings. Combined with stain, in this case Carlisle Tung Oil, the kerf marks create striking contrasts in the wood.

Kudos to Jeanne Wisner, and to our craftsmen, for such gorgeous floors and rooms!

Have a look at some really terrific photos of a new Carlisle floor in a cabin in New Mexico. You’re looking at Old Growth Heart Pine, prefinished, without stain.

The customer recently sent the photographs with this note to our Sales and Design Consultant Shanon Sterrett:

“We got moved in over the holidays — everything is wonderful!  These are pictures from our New Mexico Cabin.  The floor is awesome!”

“We are happy with the products,” writes a customer who purchased an Eastern White Pine floor with Hit or Miss distressing, one of several hand-made surfaces created by the craftsmen in our Custom Shop. The floor is finished with our Gingerbread stain and Tung Oil. It’s a great fit for a family cabin in Hill City, Minnesota!

Thanks to Carlisle Sales and Design Consultant Shanon Sterrett for forwarding these photos, and of course to the customers for sending them along. We love it when you are happy!
