The Carlisle booth is #5107 and will feature a floor of Old Growth Eastern White Pine with a blend of grades, 13-, 14- and 17 inch- face widths, and 7/8 inch thick, slight block planed edges. It’ll be refinished by the sample shop with Copper Mine stain, two coats of trans and two coast Satin Tung Oil, and finished with antique cut nails.
In addition, there will be an extensive display of wood panels — Brown Maple with Clear Original Satin stain, Footworn Walnut with Sturbridge Brown stain and Antique Heart Pine with super rustic stain to name just a few.
Former Vice President Al Gore will be the keynote speaker at the expo and singer Sheryl Crow will perform.

Posted by Christine Halvorson
We were thrilled to see Hemphill’s Rugs and Carpets of Costa Mesa, California adding us to their stellar list of suppliers. Hemphill’s serves southern California with carpet, rug and hardwood floors. They also have a blog and recently mentioned Carlisle in it with a look at how we harvest the trees, work with loggers and sawyers and how we dry the wood. Thank you to Hemphill’s!

Green by Design event will make building green easy , October 10 in Plymouth, NH
Posted by Christine Halvorson

Green building and home design and all its possibilities are the focus of the Green by Design Open House hosted by ABODE Builders of New England October 10 in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Anyone with some ideas for building their dream home or remodeling their current home in an environmentally friendly way should attend and learn from some of New England’s best experts in green building—including Carlisle of course. Architects, real estate agents and anyone who wants to think green may benefit.
The event is 1 to 4 p.m. Directions to the Abode location are here.
“We’ll have some of the green home building industry’s top talent on hand and help people get started on the path of building their dream home the right way,” says Jason Maring of ABODE Builders.
Hickory in Design Center:

Carlisle’s Tim Buckley will be on hand giving a demonstration, plus answering questions, showing samples and offering catalogs. Carlisle and Abode have been working together for the past two years, since Abode was launched. Visitors at the Green by Design Open House will see Carlisle’s 4-to-8-inch Antique Hickory floor (above), which is installed in the Abode Design Center, and our 4- to 8-inch pre-finished Antique Oak in the on-site, award-winning model home (below).

The event’s organizers at Abode say they hope it will help educate consumers on green design and building technologies and help them feel comfortable with the building process, which can be daunting to contemplate. Abode is a full-service, custom architectural home design and build firm.
The event includes demonstrations by New England’s top green experts in architectural, interior, kitchen and landscape design. Representatives from Crown Point Cabinetry (another Carlisle partner), Design East Interiors and Andrews Construction, along with award-winning architect Elise Stone, will be on-hand to talk about the benefits of green design and energy efficient living.
And, it’s not just about floors and green design. The event wraps up with live music and a barbecue. And note, on Columbus Day weekend, this beautiful corner of New England comes alive with fall foliage—the perfect excuse for a daytrip into New Hampshire’s countryside.
