Barrineau Residence ~ Beautiful Heart Pine Floors from a DIY

We heard from a nice customer on our new Facebook page,  about some new Long Leaf Heart Pine Floors that she installed in her home.   When we saw her post we emailed her for some pictures and she was so nice to send them along!

Kristin and her husband worked with Wide Plank Specialist Lynne Rafuse to design some beautiful Long Leaf Heart PIne flooring for their home.   They were going for a rustic cabin look and Kristin said that the Heart Pine floors were a perfect fit.  Since Heart Pine is naturally a light floor, she worked with Lynne to select our Gingerbread stain, which when applied, would give the floor an older, and aged look.

Kristin also reports that this project was a succesful DIY project!  Believe it or not about 25% of all Carlisle floors are installed by a Do-It-Yourself customer!

Check out these photos and learn why Long Leaf Heart Pine Floors might be right for you!

Carlisle “wins over” Skeptical Maine Builder

  • Posted by

Wondering why Carlisle Pine floors appeal to homeowners and profesionals over other suppliers? Well here's a great story to fill you in.

Glen Ranager, veteran Carlisle Wide Plank Specialist, shared a great story with us today from a skeptical builder in Maine who worked with a Carlisle customer about a year ago.  At the time, the builder had discouraged his customer from Pine, but also from the wider planks.

Being from Maine, the proclaimed Eastern White Pine state, he has long had issues with the qaulity of the White pine flooring available to him.  The flooring he got locally was never dried right, it was milled poorly or he had stability problems.  All of these can lead to big problems with installation, finish, and performance.

But thanks to a determined Boston homeowner who just had to have Wide Plank Eastern White Pine floors in his Maine lake house, we won him over and he called us back to get more flooring!

A little convincing…and a beautiful Wide Plank White Pine Floor

Beth Bromage Living Room  Beth Bromage and her husband write to us about the installation of our Wide Plank Eastern White Pine flooring, a floor they designed with Wide Plank Specialist Lynne Rafuse almost 4 years ago.  Although these were the floors of her dreams, she admits that it took some convincing of her husband to accept it, after all this floor is known for its softness, even the installer was a bit skeptical.  So much so that about three years after he installed the floor he knocked on the door to see if they were still “holding up”.

I’d say they “held up” got even better with time wtih age.  This floor now almost 4 years old gave Beth “another layer of character” to her home, and just the look she wanted.
