Monday Morning Mailbag: Michigan remodel with Eastern White Pine garners visitor comments each time

We got this nice note from a customer for a project that dates back to May of 2007. Andrew Davidson used Carlisle’s Eastern White Pine when he renovated his Michigan home then and he writes:

“I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I attached a picture, and I can tell you the one thing people comment on when they walk in our house, is the floors. It came out great,” Andrew wrote.

Well, we’ll let you judge for yourself, from the picture below. Did it turn out great, or what?

Thinking about floors? We do it all the time. Give us a call at 1-800-595-9663.

Massachusetts kitchen floor gets Carlisle White Oak as compromise between antique and rustic

Earlier this summer, the Keanes from Weston, Massachusetts, had prefinished Carlisle floors installed in their kitchen. The couple settled on the prefinished Old Growth White Oak when she wanted Antique Oak, but he was looking for something less rustic in character. The perfect compromise was Old Growth White Oak and we think the results speak for themselves. Beth Keane wrote us to say that her visitors “gush” about the floors everytime they come in the kitchen. “They’re a real hit,” she writes.

These floors are done in 5- to 10-inch widths and have an Amber finish and a very slight bevel. The floor is also installed over radiant heat, which some customers wonder about. It’s one of the most common questions we get and we always answer by saying radiant heat is our favorite heat source for our floors. When these floors began their lives way back when as trees, homes were heated with inefficient wood stoves or fireplaces and wood was the most common floor choice. With a radiant heat system, the heat is distributed much more evenly and it’s much more stable for the wood. The wood we use is of the highest quality and extremely stable, which makes it a perfect match for radiant heat floors.

They also have a blog and recently mentioned Carlisle in it with a look at how we harvest the trees, work with loggers and sawyers and how we dry the wood. Thank you to Hemphill’s!

Monday Morning Mailbag: Carlisle floors seen as centerpiece of new Pennsylvania home

Chad and Erin Shaffer of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania dropped us a note to tell us the Carlisle floors they had installed in their new home have become the centerpiece of that home!
The Shafers worked with Carlisle’s Scott Ogden to choose 610 square feet of our Premium Grade Old Growth Hickory, in 8-inch nominal widths. It was pre-finished with our Amber Custom Coating. They also got 440 square feet of the same floor with a hand-scraped face and edge for a custom look.

You can see what they had to say here:

A customer in Pennsylvania sent us these shots of his recently installed Antique Milled Barnwood, which he tells us has “sentimental value” for him. John Cassimatis has been working with Carlisle for a few years and now plans another floor in Antique Oak.
