Carlisle’s occasional work with the Seattle-based architectural firm Callison led to an ambitious undertaking in mid-2008, when the firm began designing a series of retail stores for the cosmetics/lifestyle company Philosophy.

Carlisle’s Sarah Bergren, in our Denver offices, was charged with finding the right floor to enhance Philosophy’s trademark black and white brand. The first store would open in October.

“It was pretty fast-paced,” Bergren says.

Tracy Woods, the Project Manager and an Associate Principal with Callison, said the short time-frame was a factor in deciding to go with Carlisle’s pre-finished option, plus they would use Carlisle’s baseboards, which isn’t done often.
