Custom finished Hickory floors a perfect fit in new home in seaside Rockport, Mass.

Thanks to architect David Mehlin for sending along these terrific photos of our Heirloom Hickory floors, which were recently installed in a Rockport, Massachusetts home that Mehlin designed. Builder Tom Anderson of Rockport did the installation. Carlisle Sales and Design Consultant Glen Ranagan of our Stoddard, New Hampshire location worked on the project from our end.
Those of you who aren’t familiar with Hickory will be interested to know that, in addition to being an extremely tough wood, it offers contrasting patterns of clear yellow and rich brown heartwood, making for a really striking floor (as you’ll see in the photographs).
The flooring in the Rockport house has 8-inch face widths, and was prefinished at our Custom Shop with Whitewashed Fence stain.
