Tour kitchens—including 3 with Carlisle floors—in historic Hancock, N.H.

If you live in — or within driving distance of — the Monadnock Region of southwest New Hampshire, you have a great opportunity next month to tour historic kitchens in a charming New England village. The Hancock, N.H, Woman’s Club is hosting A Taste of Hancock: A Kitchen Tour and Culinary Fair on Historic Main Street. Carlisle, with its home base in neighboring Stoddard, is a sponsor of the tour and fair.

The event, which will be held rain or shine on Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature tours of kitchens in seven of the town’s venerable old homes. Most of the kitchens blend a traditional feel with features for the contemporary cook. We’re especially proud that three of the kitchens on the tour feature Carlisle Wide Plank Floors!

In addition to the kitchen tours, the day’s festivities will include kitchen and food-related exhibits and vendors; a buffet lunch with music from a terrific local duo, The Grumbling Rustics; a sale of used and rare cookbooks; and an Afternoon of Wine and Hors d’Oeuvres at the Hancock Inn.

Tickets are $20 for the tour; the buffet lunch and Wine and Hors d’Oeuvres are additional and must be reserved in advance (follow the links above for information). Tour sales will be limited, so purchase them soon! Click here to buy your tickets online, or if you live nearby you can pick them up at the Hancock Inn, the Moller’s Realtors in Hancock, or Steele’s Stationery in Peterboorough.

We look forward to seeing you there!
