2013 Kitchen Trends Heating Up: Appliances and Focal Points

Similiar to selecting the right colors or furniture for your rooms, selecting the right appliances for your kitchen can seem daunting.  There are many manufacturers, suppliers and styles to choose from.

In 2013 customers are looking at key components like new technology, energy efficiency, and smart appliances.

Appliances that are designed to be hidden or look more like furniture are in demand.  After all, if you are moving out of the formal dining room and into the kitchen you still want a nice atmosphere.]

Another sought after addition for residential kitchens is professional grade appliances.

As you consider appliances for your kitchen keep in mind that they will be a primary focal point.  But they don’t have to be the only focal point.

You can create great focal points in your kitchen by emphasizing elements like the range hood, windows, back splashes or featured cabinetry.

These focal points are especially important if they are the first items you see when you enter the kitchen or if they can be easily seen from other rooms.

What is your favorite kitchen appliance?  Did you create a specific kind of focal point in your kitchen – what was it?
