Prefinished flooring has been out there for a long time, but we waited until we could be sure of getting it right – environmentally right, and right in terms of that lustrous traditional look for which Carlisle finishes are famous.

Handmade Surfaces

Carlisle’s expert craftsmen can recreate many centuries-old looks with a variety of handmade surface treatments, each bringing its own distinctive character to a floor. These include footworn, watermill, hit or miss, and brushed.

Historic Stains & Finishes

Over the years, Carlisle has continued to scrutinize and sample countless reclaimed floors across the country in order to produce stains that authentically recreate their colors and patina. Accordingly, we offer a color palette that currently encompasses more than 12 options — from reclaimed whitewash to near ebony.

Right from the beginning, our founder Dale Carlisle was always happy to take on custom projects for people who wanted something special. Today, this level of customization is one of the most important things that set us apart from the rest of the wood flooring industry.

Engineered Flooring

Like our decision to offer prefinished flooring, adding engineered floors to our lineup was not something we undertook lightly. We knew that “engineered” is an industry term that can refer to a wide variety of floor offerings, many of which are of inferior quality and with short life spans. So we took it upon ourselves to make sure our Engineered Floors became a trusted option, with the same care and attention to detail as our solid wood floors.
