Beams

For those who want to incorporate the look of rustic beams into their homes, Carlisle offers both newly sawn and FSC Reclaimed examples. For a house with cathedral ceilings or a large barnhouse, these large beams are just the right scale to add a dramatic focal point to an already beautiful open space. This look will instill a feeling of architectural artistry in every guest's eye drawn into the view.

Our newly sawn beams are available in Eastern White Pine, Red and White Oak, and can take a variety of finished forms. Our reclaimed beams have been recycled from old barns and buildings slated for demolition. Each reflects the methods used in its original tooling and boasts an aged patina that only time can create.

Rough-Sawn

Contains the radial saw kerfs typical of original rough sawn beams.

Hand-Planed

Contains flowing plane markings, reflecting the way in which original beams were smoothed.

Hand-Hewn

The adze, which is an reclaimed tool that was used to sculpt beams, creates this style which contains distinctive markings similar to, but less rustic than, that of an axe.

Reclaimed Antique Beams

May contain any number of original combination's of rough-sawn, hand-planed or hand-hewn work.

Paneling

Nothing adds more charm and warmth to a home than traditional wood paneling that pays tribute to the 17th and 18th centuries, but can feel right at home in the most contemporary of settings. Carlisle offers options that range from simple pine wainscoting and rich hardwoods to a variety of reclaimed woods and barn siding.
