This process replicates the look of floors whose boards were originally rough sawn at riverside watermills centuries ago.

Never planed or scraped smooth, saw marks remained in the boards. Over the years the marks transformed into undulations in the boards, as they were smoothed by foot traffic. We leave the original saw marks on the timber, then individually brush the planks to soften the texture, creating an authentic reproduction of the old watermill boards.
