Bradford Umber

Bradford, New Hampshire was settled in 1772 and incorporated just nine days after the Constitution was adopted in 1787. It’s a scenic country community including the villages of: Box Corner, Bradford, and Bradford Center. Located between New Hampshire’s White Mountains and Lake Sunapee, Bradford is a year-round vacation community. Beach goers and skiers alike annually vacation in this area of our state. Fourteen of New Hampshire’s tallest White Pine trees are still growing in Bradford today. These treasured beauties remain standing in memorial to the virgin forest that once covered most of Southern New Hampshire. Living examples of the Pine trees once used to make the masts on whaling ships and schooners, these trees range in height from 60-100 feet tall and are up to 6 feet in diameter. We’ve named our Bradford Umber stain after the dusky brown colored patina that White Pine acquires with age. Afterall, we certainly must honor Eastern White Pine, as it is the floor that began our enduring tradition.
