Concord Honey

Concord has been the official seat of our state’s government, and the oldest state capitol in the country since 1808. The community was first settled by immigrants from Massachusetts in 1725, and many of the original houses remain today on the city’s historic Main Street.

Home to the nation’s 14th President, Franklin Pierce, Concord is the center of the political activity which is watched closely by the entire country during the days leading up to each Presidential election.

Concord’s major industries include furniture making and granite quarrying, contributing to New Hampshire being known as “the Granite State.” In fact, the granite for the library of Congress in Washington, D.C. came from nearby Rattlesnake Hill which is still considered to be a major granite quarry.

At local fairs in the nearby town of Lancaster, honey products are judged and awarded on displays and presentation, including the Light Amber category for which this stain is named.
