Sturbridge Brown

Home to the well-known Old Sturbridge Village, this quaint and lively town truly depicts the history of our country, home to America’s first settlers. The town was incorporated in 1738 as a small farming community and is located on the banks of the Quinebaug River in south-central Massachusetts. Its residents saw the introduction, boom and decline of water driven mills, which even though they are no longer in use have been converted into homes and shops and are still in existence today.

In Old Sturbridge Village, you can experience life in an old New England Town, especially during Thanksgiving where the pilgrims’ first community feast is reenacted. The spirit of our American ancestors depicting a simpler way of life is felt here in Sturbridge and is carried over in Carlisle’s Sturbridge Brown stain.
