Brown Maple is cut from the same mature timbers as our White Maple floors, but typically the timbers have been used for sap collection for maple syrup. This process changes the naturally white interior of the Maple tree so some boards will have varying hues of gold, amber and brown.  Carlisle Brown Maple floors will have a smooth grain pattern with a strong variation of color tones.  It looks beautiful with our Clear or Amber finish or with a stain - which will help minimize the natural color variation.
