As Green as It Gets
Today, few topics have received the buzzword status of “green.” But we’ve never seen using green environmental practices as a pop trend or something requiring only a politically correct nod and wink.
From our fully sustainable forest management practices to recycling our by-products to our custom-created stains and topcoats, which use virtually no VOCs, we believe that the surface we create inside your home should reflect and respect the surface that Nature created outside your home. With growing concerns about indoor air quality and the embodied energy required to manufacture a given material, few (if any) floors are more suitable for green building than ours. And unlike so many flooring materials that are here today and off to the landfill tomorrow, a Carlisle floor — whether newly sawn or our FSC Reclaimed Antique — is capable of lasting more than 200 years. And you really can’t get much greener than that.
For example, our state-of-the-art milling tools are designed to create minimal waste. And our wood scraps and sawdust are recycled into fuel for pellet stoves.
