Dedicated Craftsmen

One-Board-at-a-Time Craftsmanship

New England has long been known for its craftsmen, especially in the area of woodworking. Much of this heritage sprang out of simple necessity — the early colonists had to make the most of what their existence demanded. They wisely used of the raw materials that Nature provided. And what was born of sheer practicality soon became finely crafted folk art.

Today, those who work in our mill and our Custom Shop share this same love of wood and are dedicated to bringing out the best in its inherent grain, coloration and character. From the moment the rough-sawn planks arrive at our mill for curing to the day your floor is shipped, many different hands and eyes will have scrutinized every board, making sure that each expresses its full potential. These craftsmen envision how each completed floor will look and are guided by this vision throughout the milling process.
