How We Deliver Your Floor
Your floor will typically be delivered via common carrier, such as Yellow Freight or CCX. These trucks are about 36 feet long, so please keep in mind that the truck will need to access your home or job site, park, and be able to turn around.
If you think there might be difficulty with this, please let us know and we’ll be happy to make other trucking arrangements to deliver your floor.
Large flooring orders of 4,000 square feet or more will be delivered on a flatbed. These trucks are 65 feet long, so again, we will want to discuss the accessibility of your location to accommodate this type of delivery vehicle.
We Deliver Anywhere
For more than 40 years, we have delivered Carlisle floors all over the world. If your project is located outside of the contiguous 48 states, we will make all the arrangements for your shipment to arrive safely and on time.
Scheduling Your Delivery
In order to make sure you are prepared for your delivery, you or your builder will receive a phone call from us about a week in advance of your shipping date so that you know when your floor is leaving our building. Then, about a day or so in advance of the actual delivery date, the trucking company will call you with confirmation and an approximate arrival time frame.
What You’ll Need
At the time your order is placed, we will send you and/or your builder or installer a very detailed instruction sheet outlining everything you will need in order to ensure a smooth delivery. Typically, this includes the tools you should have on hand for unpacking your floor and the number of people you will need to carry the boards inside — a minimum of two, since the truck driver will not be able to assist in this. To make the job go faster, it is preferable to have one person handing down boards from the truck and at least one two-person team carrying them. Given the lengths of the boards, they are too heavy and awkward for one person to carry safely.
