It is a new year and we know you are looking for some new interior design trends to dress up your home, or perhaps start planning for a new project.  If you are looking for inspiration, we have it!

From silky smooth to glorious gray, and a new, exciting color duo, put your home in the lap of luxury this year with 3 stylish home design trends that will dress up any space.

1. A New Duo – Gold & White

There is an endless combination of color duo’s to choose from, but the duo you want to check out this year is white & gold. White keeps things looking crisp and clean – perfect for a variety of looks from modern luxury, traditional farmhouse or shabby chic. Gold can make a room look more luxurious, and it is a nice contrast to simple white tones. Notice in this classy high rise the tiles, gold inset in the bookshelves, pillows and table top in the background. Just a little bit goes a long way.

2. Silky Styles

2015 might be the perfect time to introduce a lush new fabric to your home – silk. Once expensive and reserved for royalty, it has become more mainstream, and may be finding its way into your house. It is as fragile as it is versatile and certainly fitting if you want to add a luxirious touch to your room.

Silk curtains are stylish and have a sheer appearance which will let more natural light into a room, and brighten up the space. It will also let in more cold, so probably not recommended this time of year in the colder areas of the country. Depending on your design or budget you can have your curtains custom made, or many notable home furnishing stores offer silk curtains at a fraction of the cost.

Silk makes for beautiful pillows, with their subtle shimmer. You can often find silk pillows with beautiful embroidery and designers. This Boston penthouse uses some simple silk accent pillows (and notice the combination of white and gold along with contrasting dark wood flooring – makes for an exciting combination).

You can also use silk on your walls. This California home used hand painted silk wallpaper to dress up the dining room, and it complements the overall color scheme of the room so well.

Silk also makes a beautiful addition to the bedroom. From the silk, printed headboard, pillows and bedding you’ll be sleeping in the lap of smooth, silky luxury.

3. Modern Wood Flooring

Be it the refined look of a Chevron Oak wood floor or stylish wide plank floors – wood flooring never goes out of style.  . Here’s a few ways to add it to your home.

Grey wood flooring
