Historic Home Renovation Tips from Monica MacKenzie

Monica MacKenzie of Monica MacKenzie Designs called her Wide Plank Specialist, Lynne Rafuse, today to share some exciting news!  A home she had recently worked on, the historic Benjamin King home,  had recently been featured on This Old House.  Monica walks through the house with This Old House Host Kevin O’Connor. Watch the video and click on Scene Selection #4 to go right to the segment.

Monica shows you how you can combine old and new both inside and outside.

Outside the exterior details are important like the shingles, clapboards, windows, window panes and Landscaping from the fieldstone and the brick pavers. (photo from http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/tv/video/0,,20552167,00.html)

Inside she shows off the 250 year old paneling, exposed beams, and original brick fireplace and the new Carlisle Wide Plank Pine floors that look like they have been there as long as the paneling.  (Photo from http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/tv/video/0,,20552167,00.html)
