The 2019 San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Established in 1977, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase has paired the most prestigious addresses with the most breathtaking neighborhoods of San Francisco. In the past 42 years it has raised over $16 million to benefit San Francisco University High School’s financial aid program. This year’s property, at more than 18,000 square feet with 33 redesigned spaces, appears on the National Register of Historic Places and is currently listed on the market for $30 million.  The home was originally built in 1904 and modeled after the actual Palace of Versailles, and why it’s named “Le Petit Trianon”.

Beaux-Arts Design Meets Contemporary Entertaining

Forty-seven of the Bay Area’s top interior and landscape designers applied their artistic vision to transform the Presidio Heights mansion into a contemporary interior design playground. Carlisle is honored to be a part of the transformation with our custom wood floors featured in the Service Lounge, a collaboration between David Armour Architecture and Jaimie Belew Interior Design who partnered to renew a stunning set of service-level spaces in the mansion. Inspired by Marie Antoinette’s French Beaux-Arts estate, the spaces pay homage to Le Petit Trianon’s classic architecture that Armour holds dear while showcasing contemporary elements selected to suit the entertainment needs of today’s homeowner.

The After Party with Carlisle Custom Wood Floors!

The Service Lounge, also known as the after party, was created by combining two adjacent rooms.  One side of the Service Lounge features an art deco inspired banquette, ideal for lounging and nibbling from a tray on its custom quartzite table.  On the other side, a chef’s desk — used for sorting recipes earlier in the night — is now set with barware and glasses. A grand piano stands gracefully in another corner to reflect the mood of the room in its open lid. The 7” wide prefinished White Oak flooring needed a slight sheen, and our extra matte sheen was a perfect choice, a bone-colored finish set off the shellacked-vanilla ceiling. Walls painted in a soft, rosy peach create the absolute setting for a fabulous evening.

The designers sought a light, neutral grey-white floor which would be featured, in the lower level room. Accents of salmon would be seen in the kitchen on the range, in the custom patchwork curtains made from Holland & Sherry, in the wool twill pillows, and the beautiful accessories throughout the room, allowing the wide plank Oak hardwood flooring to serve as the impactful background for this space. Jaimie wanted to replicate the hardwood flooring sample she provided to Terry McLaughlin, Wide Plank Specialist, in our San Francisco Design Showroom during her personal design consultation.  Based on Jaimie’s input, our Custom Sample Shop was able to create a custom oak flooring sample with the look she envisioned, and once approved, our craftsmen would use that sample to craft the wood flooring one board at a time for this project.
