A prefinished floor arrives ready for a fast installation and lets you avoid the inconvenience, odor and mess of having a floor finished within your home.

Can White Oak Chevron flooring be textured?

Texturing techniques can infuse modern Oak flooring with the character and appearance of antique floors that have been worn down over time. At Carlisle, White Oak floor texture includes Timeworn, Brushed and Footworn techniques as well as Hand-Scraped Edges, Hit or Miss marks and Watermill marks.

Why choose a Chevron pattern?

Chevron floors have been gracing stylish interiors since the 16th century and the pattern remains a classic today. A Chevron floor instantly adds elegance and sophistication to any room, and the visual appeal of the Chevron pattern makes the floor a central design element within any interior aesthetic.

What is White Oak Chevron flooring?

White Oak Chevron flooring is a hardwood floor made from White Oak timber where the floorboards are laid out with a Chevron pattern. To create a Chevron floor, the ends of each board are cut at an angle, typically 45°, so that two adjacent boards form a perfect V-shape. When the pattern is carried across an entire floor, the effect is a long string of arrows and a zigzag appearance that provides a great sense of movement and visual interest while also making a room seem more spacious.

More ways to customize your Carlisle floor

Choosing a Chevron pattern is just the first of many options you’ll have at Carlisle for making your floor a one-of-a-kind expression of your own sense of style and taste.

While standard White Oak is an excellent option for Chevron floor, we also offer Rift & Quartersawn White Oak options. The boards in these floors are cut with a special technique that produces long, straight vertical lines running the length of the plank for a beautiful and more formal aesthetic. You can also consider Chevron floors made with Red Oak. Red Oak floor colors offer deep salmon tones in the heartwood.

We offer a virtually unlimited assortment of finish and color possibilities to meet your design needs, and our Carlisle Custom Color match system makes it easy to select an exact shade of stain based on any item that you bring to us.

Carlisle White Oak Chevron flooring can be made with solid or engineered floorboards. A solid plank is cut from a single piece of oak, while an engineered floorboard uses a thick Oak veneer that’s adhered to multiple layers of backing material to produce a floorboard that’s more resistant to moisture, humidity and temperature changes.

Our proprietary grading system lets you choose from planks that feature more character – things like knots, mineral streaks, and color variation – or floorboards that have more consistency and a more formal appearance.

Adding texture helps to give a new floor the character and appearance of an antique surface that has been worn down by time and foot traffic.
