An authentic reproduction of old watermill boards.
This process replicates the look of floors whose boards were originally rough sawn at riverside watermills centuries ago. Here, such boards were never planed or scraped smooth, leaving distinctive saw marks in the wood. Over the years these marks transformed into undulations as they were smoothed by foot traffic.
We leave the original saw marks on the timber, then individually brush the planks to soften the texture, creating an authentic reproduction of the old watermill boards.
